The three classrooms went outside at different times. When inside each class played with the available toys, read books, listened to music, worked on various art projects. A review of medications was observed. A review of children's records during today's inspection and a review of staff records at the main office. Inspection began:9:30 am and ended 11:45 am.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on observation the center did not have adequate resilient surfacing on the playground. Evidence: 1. The poured in place resilient surfacing has moss growing on over half of the surfacing. This makes the surface slippery, also there are leaves covering the resilient surfacing. Plan of Correction: The center and the maintenance department has attempted on several occasions to get rid of the moss but has not been successful due to all the trees surrounding the playground. The center will continue to try to find a resolution to the moss growing. The leaves will be blown off of the playground area on a regular basis. The licensee has a plan and we have received the bids for the work. We recently received our notice of award and now have the funds to make it happen. I?ll make sure it gets taken care of.
