Diapering procedures and staff training were discussed during the inspection.
An unannounced renewal inspection was completed on 12/27/18 from 10:45am until 2:10pm. At the time of the tour, there were 74 children in care with 16 staff present. A sample of 7 children's records and 7 staff records were reviewed. Children were observed participating in morning learning activities, eating lunch and resting quietly during nap time. Infant feeding, diapering, restroom and table sanitizing procedures were also observed. Medication, first aid and emergency supplies, documentation of emergency practice drills, children's injury reports and center postings were reviewed. One violation in the area of administration is identified on the violation notice and was discussed with the center director during the exit interview.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: Based on record review and interview, the center did not ensure that staff members shall submit the results of a follow-up tuberculosis screening at least every two years from the date of the first initial screening or test. Evidence: 1. The most recent documented tuberculosis screening for staff 1 is dated 10/17/16. Staff 2 confirmed that the tuberculosis screening for staff 1 is expired. Plan of Correction: Staff 1 will obtain an updated TB screening and the results will be placed in staff 1's record.
