Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, December 12, 2018 to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. The inspector arrived at 1:25 pm and concluded the inspection at 3:40 pm. Upon the inspectors arrival, children from the Central Montessori Adolescent program were combined with the lower and middle elementary children to practice for their winter celebration performance where children will sing songs and have cookies with parents. Children will also be delivering cookies to the local fire department. Children in primary I and II were observed in a variety of activities including making paper punch snowflakes, sorting objects with tongs, drawing, puzzles and keyboarding words and sounds. Children in pre-primary were just getting up from nap. Bathroom breaks and hand washing was conducted. Later children had time outside on the playground. Children provide their own meals which were labeled with names. All areas of the facility were inspected. The facility has age and stage appropriate materials and supplies. The facility had the following posted: License, last inspection, emergency numbers, evacuation maps/procedures, daily schedule, allergy information and various parent information. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete on both floors of the facility. The inspector interacted with staff and children in care. Five staff records and eight children's records were reviewed during today's inspection. Medications and authorizations were reviewed. Staff on site have current CPR, First aid, DHO and MAT training. The last evacuation drill was conducted on 11/30/2018. The two required shelter-in-place drill for 2018 year were completed on 01/11/2018 and 03/20/2018 with additional drills documented. Health Inspection: 02/13/2018 Fire Inspection: 10/09/2017 The following ratios were observed in each classroom: Primary I: (3-6 years) 20 children with 2 staff. Primary II: (3-6 years) 21 children with 3 staff. Pre-Primary: (2-3.5 years) 15 children with 3 staff. Lower & Middle Elementary: 27 children with 3 staff. *Visiting from the Adolescent program: 24 children with 3 staff.
