The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced inspection on Thursday, December 13, 2018, and Monday, December 17, 2018 in response to a self-reported incident that the Department received on December 07, 2018 regarding inadequate supervision. The inspector was on site at the center on 12/13/2018 from 01:18pm to 2:40pm, and 10:30am to 11:50am on12/17/2018. Interviews with staff were completed, observations were made in the center, and documentation and video footage was reviewed. The preponderance of the evidence gathered during the investigation does not support the allegation; therefore, the complaint is determined to be not valid. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A Description: Based on a review of video footage on 12/13/2018, the center did not ensure that staff wash their hands with soap and running water before and after a diaper change, and that children's hands shall be washed with soap and running water after toileting. EVIDENCE: 1. Staff #1 was observed changing the diaper of an infant twice. Staff #1 did not wash her hands or the hands of the infant after each change. 2. Staff #2 was observed changing the diaper of an infant. Staff #2 did not wash her hands or the hands of the infant after the change. 3. Staff #3 was observed changing the diaper of an infant. Staff #3 did not wash her hands or the hands of the infant after the change. Plan of Correction: Will go to each room and talk to each teacher and readdress during at a staff meeting in January.
