- Technical Assistance:
An inspection by the local fire department is needed prior to issuing a renewed license. The program director will contact the local fire department to schedule an inspection. The CPS central registry search for staff 5 has not yet been returned as it was returned for the fee owing. The program director will follow up with the office of background investigations as the check has been cashed, but results have not yet been received.
An unannounced, mandated renewal inspection was conducted today. The inspector arrived at 10:10 AM and departed at 12:30 PM. Seventeen children were in care with four staff. Morning activities and lunch service were observed. A sample size of five staff records and five children's records were reviewed. It was reported that no children have been administered medication. Written injury records were reviewed. An exit meeting was conducted with the program director prior to closure of the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-C Description: Based upon review of five staff records, the facility has not ensured that program directors and staff who work directly with children attend at least 16 hours of staff training annually. Evidence: 1. The record reviewed for staff 1 included documentation of only three hours of training in 2018. 2. Staff 1 confirmed that additional training is need for staff 1. Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following: All staff will obtain and have documented in the records, at least 16 hours of training each year.
