Comments:
An unannounced Renewal Inspection was conducted today from 10:30am-1:00pm. There were 61 children with 12 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having circle time, coloring, reading, playing with dinosaurs, and putting together puzzles. A complete inspection of the physical plant, a sample of 7 children's records and 4 staff records, the first aid kit, evacuation drill log, injury report logs, and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation, the space was not kept in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: 1. Exposed screws were observed at the base of toilets on 2 of 4 of the toilets in the boy's bathroom. 2. Exposed screws were observed at the base of toilets on 4 of 4 of the toilets in the girl's bathroom.

Plan of Correction: We will have them capped.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B
Description: Based on observation, the facility did not ensure that disposable diapers are disposed in a storage system that is either foot operated or used in such a way that neither the staff member's hand nor the soiled diaper touches an exterior surface of the storage system during disposal. Evidence: 1. The trash can in the boy's bathroom was observed to have soiled diapers and pull-ups in it during the inspection. The trash can did not have an operable lid.

Plan of Correction: We will purchase one today.
