Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C Description: Based on direct observation, the center did not ensure all medication administered had the appropriate authorizations required for the type of medication. Evidence: A liquid medication for child #1 had a long term authorization from a physician that had an end date of December 31 2018. The medication has been administered daily since the authorization expired with an authorization from the parent. Any medication that is considered long term must have an authorization signed by both the parent and the physician. Plan of Correction: We will reach out to the parent and have the physician update the authorization date.
