- Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided regarding the additions to the Subsidy Health and Safety standards.
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted between 9:30am & 2:30pm, there were 36 children with 6 direct staff members. Physical plant, staff and children records, medications and emergency procedures were reviewed along with the supplemental health and safety requirements. A licensing inspection was also conducted on the date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-530-4 Description: Based on review of staff records, not all staff are current in CPR and first aid. Evidence: Staff #1 does not have documentation of CPR or First aid within the first 90 days of employment. Plan of Correction: Staff says she is certified and will get a copy of her cards.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-580-B Description: Based on review of staff records, not all staff completed the Virginia Preservice Training within 90 days of employment. Evidence: Staff #1 does not have documentation of completing the Virginia Preservice Training within 90 days of hire. Plan of Correction: I will make sure she completes it.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-650-E Description: Based on review of policies, there is not a policy or procedure in place to ensure consistent care. Evidence: There is no documentation of a written policy or procedures in place to ensure that each group of children receives care by consistent staff or teams of staff members. Plan of Correction: I will develop a plan and implement it.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-770-B-5 Description: Based on review of emergency procedures, there is no documentation of continuity of operations in the event of an emergency. Evidence: There is no procedure in place to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency. Plan of Correction: I will add the procedures to my emergency plan.
