Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was completed on January 25, 2019 from approximately 11:00a.m. to 1:15p.m. to review supplemental health and safety requirements. Initially twenty-five children were in care, age two to five years old, and then thirty-one school age children arrived due to an early release at school. Staff and children were observed in five classrooms with adequate staff ratios. Children and staff were observed engaging in activities to include outside play, center time, hand washing, lunch time, nap time, and toileting. Children?s equipment, learning materials, outdoor and classroom space, rest rooms and the first aid and emergency supplies were inspected. Five children?s records, five staff records, annual fire and health inspections, fire drill, shelter in place and lock down drill logs, daily health observation and medication administration certifications, injury reports, daily attendance, medication authorizations and logs and required postings were reviewed. The Director was available for interview and the inspection and was present at the exit interview at which time inspection findings were reviewed.

A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found.
