An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:00am-12:00pm. There were 129 children supervised by 20 direct care staff. The physical plant, programming, medications, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, playing outside, and eating snack. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3 Description: Based on observation, not all outlets have protective covers. Evidence: In the Pre K A and the Pre K2 classrooms, power strips are uncovered, making them accessible to children. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-440-B Description: Based on observation, not all cribs are identified for use by a specific child. Evidence: Cots in the Beginner A, B, and Toddler B classrooms are not labeled for use by a specific child. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B Description: Based on observation, not all diapering surfaces are nonabsorbent. Evidence: The diaper changing pad in the Toddler B classroom has a tear, making it a nonabsorbent surface. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-D Description: Based on review of medication authorizations, not all authorizations are complete. Evidence: Medication authorizations for child #1 was not signed off by a physician. Plan of Correction: I will return the medications and authorizations to the parents have them completed.
