A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 02.05.19 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 8:30am- 10:45am. Upon arrival there were 52 children in care with 13 staff present. A sample of 5 children's records and 2 staff records in addition to 1 medication. Children were observed playing in learning centers and participating in an art project. Drop-off was also observed in the morning. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-520-B-11 Description: Based on a record review the vendor did not ensure there was a written allergy care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction. Evidence: Child #1 and #2 both were listed as having a food allergy on the vendor's "Allergy and Dietary Preference sheet. Neither child had a written allergy care plan. Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the vendor during the exit interview: Chid #1 and #2 do not have true allergies and were listed incorrectly on the form. All records will be updated.
