63.2 Facilities & Programs.
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced renewal inspection on Monday, February 04, 2019 from approximately 10:16 am until 12:07 pm to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. During this inspection, the children in care were observed by the licensing inspector in the two classroom settings. The census for today's inspection consisted of 29 children with five staff present including administrative staff. The licensing inspector completed observations of the children in care completing a variety of activities to include transitioning from lunch, engaged in outdoor play with peers, transitioning indoors to the designated classrooms, completing bathroom break, participating in circle time activity, story time, and transitioning into napping. The program's classrooms, bathroom, and outdoor areas were inspected during this inspection. Some of required posting were reviewed by the licensing inspector. There were six children?s records reviewed by the inspector during the inspection. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. Last fire inspection: 11/28/18 Last health inspection: 11/19/18 The Department must receive a complete renewal application and fee prior to expiration of the license on March 3, 2019 or the Department cannot renew the license. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure all areas/equipment of the center were maintained in a clean, safe, and operable condition. Evidence: During the inspection on February 4, 2019, the following observations were completed: 1. In classroom 2 bathroom, there was a toilet top located in the trash can facing upward with two visible screws observed accessible to the children in care. 2. There were multiple areas of peeling paint, and visible holes on the wall under the toilet paper dispenser locate in the bathrooms in Classroom 1 and 2. Plan of Correction: 1. Program specialist will esure trash is taken out tonight 2/04/19. 2. Program specialist will have staff submit a work order.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3 Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure all electrical outlets have protective covers. Evidence: During the inspection on February 4, 2019, in classroom 2 there was one electrical outlet without a protective cover. Plan of Correction: Corrected onsite 02/04/19.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-E Description: Based on review of emergency supplies, the center did not ensure to have all all nonmedical emergency supplies required. Evidence: During the inspection on February 4, 2019, the center did not have a working, battery-operated radio. Plan of Correction: The program specialist will supply batteries for radio.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure when food provided a posted menu for the current one week period. Evidence: During the inspection on February 4, 2019, a menu for January 7-11, 2019 and January 28-31, 2019 was posted in classrooms 1 and 2. Plan of Correction: The program specialist will ensure February menu is posted by 02/04/19.
Standard #: 22VAC40-80-120-E-2 Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure posting of the findings of the most recent inspection. Evidence: During the inspection on February 4, 2019, in Classroom 1 the inspection posted was 6/07/12 and Classroom 2 did not have an inspection summary posted. Plan of Correction: The program specialist will ensure all violation notices are posted by today 02/04/19.
