Comments:
An unannounced inspection was conducted from 12:00pm to 12:55pm. At the time of entrance, there were 50 children present with 8 staff present and 1 administrator. The inspector observed children participating in infant activities, lunch, toileting and hand washing, and nap. A sample size of 5 children's records and 5 staff records were reviewed. Medications were also reviewed. Staff reported that there have been no injuries since the last inspection. Areas of noncompliance are identified in the Violation Notice and were discussed with the Assistant Director at the conclusion of this inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation it was determined that the center did not ensure that all areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, were maintained in a safe and operable condition. Evidence: In the baby room there was: -a small area on the door frame with splintered, rough, wood at child height -a section of wood paneling that was buckled exposing the rough edge and potential pink point

Plan of Correction: The center will repair the areas listed.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-290-3
Description: Based on observation it was determined the center did not ensure that all unused electrical outlets had protective covers. Evidence: There were four electrical outlets on a surge protector that were not capped in the baby room.

Plan of Correction: Outlets will be capped.
