Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment, current staffing, and training. The Assistant Director gave the Licensing Inspector the current Renewal Application.
The following inspection took place between the hours of 7:30 am through 12 pm (noon). Today, I met with the Staff of Kinder Care Learning Center #926 located in the town of Leesburg, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced renewal inspection there were a total of 19 children with 5 staff; good ratios in all 5 rooms. A total of 5 children?s files and 4 staff files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: Infant feeding, infant sleeping, diapering, art, cooking club, toy play, center activities within each classroom, lunch, and other organized activities. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-140-A Description: Based on review, 1 of 5 children's files reviewed indicated that each child did not have a physical examination by or under the direction of a physician within one month after attendance. Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (02/08/2019), documentation of a physical examination was not available for review for Child #4. 2. The start date for Child #4 was listed as 09/10/2018. Plan of Correction: The Parent of Child #4 shall be contacted and the documentation shall be obtained.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on review, 1 of 5 children's files reviewed indicated that not all of the required information was contained within each child's record. Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (02/08/2019), the address for each of the two emergency contacts listed for Child #1 did not contain their address. 2. The name and phone number was listed on the child record and an emergency card, but the full address for each was not included. Plan of Correction: Child #1 is a drop-in child that only comes once a week, the Parent of Child #1 shall be contacted, the missing information shall be obtained, and placed on file.
