63.2 Facilities & Programs.
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 11:05am-12:00pm. There were 42 children directly supervised by 11 staff. The physical plant, 4 staff records, 4 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Meaurements were taken for the indoor play area. Children were observed participating in group play, reading books, singing and dancing, playing in the indoor place space, and eating lunch. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-E Description: Based on observation, the center did not label medication with the child's name. Evidence: In the the Seals classroom, Child 1's medication was not labeled with the child's name. Plan of Correction: During the inspection, the medication was labeled with the child's name.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-E Description: Based on observation, the center did not have a working battery operated radio. Evidence: The center did not have enough batteries to operate the radio available. Plan of Correction: We will purchase new batteries.
