An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today in response to a self reported incident involving injury to a child. The inspection took place between 9:50am-11:45am. There were 77 children directly supervised by 10 staff and 2 volunteers. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 6 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating a school-wide Valentine's Day party, receiving routine medical attention for a preexisting condition, and eating snack. Staff were observed helping children serve food, modeling polite manners and ensuring children with dietary restrictions received the appropriate food. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Kara Wright at firstname.lastname@example.org or 703-537-6241.
