Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 2/26/19 from 2:45 pm until 5:15 pm to review licensing requirements. At the time of the inspection 173 children were present with 14 staff. The sample size consisted of 10 children's records and 10 staff's records. Children and staff were observed during arrival, bathroom break, hand washing, snack, clean-up, activities in the gym and big room, outdoor play, pick-up, parent communication, transitions and behavioral management. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure all hazardous substances such as cleaning materials shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: In the upstairs loft room a spray can of Lysol and a container of disinfectant wipes was found on an open book shelf.

Plan of Correction: The cleaners will be moved to the locked closet and staff will be reminded to keep all hazardous substances in a locked location.
