Discussion of the subsidy regulations and how they apply to the Child Day Center (CDC). The new regulations that went into effect October 17, 2018 were also discussed. The center was unaware of these newer regulations. A copy of these newer regulations and information about group size was provided to the center.
A Subsidy Health and Safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted at the ImagiNation Learning Center located in Chantilly, Virginia. This inspection was conducted on 02/26/2019, between the hours of 8 am through 1:30 pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An Unannounced Monitoring Inspection was also conducted on this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. If you should have any questions, please call or e-mail. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-650-E Description: Based on interview, the center did not develop and implement a written policy and procedure that describes how the center will ensure that each group of children receives care by consistent staff. Evidence - 1. The Center Director stated (during an interview conducted on the date of inspection - 02/26/2019) that the center currently has not developed a written policy and/or procedures. 2. The Center Director also stated that she was unaware of this new requirement and was not notified of this change. Plan of Correction: This policy and the needed procedures shall be written. It is already the position of the center to maintain consistent staff for all age groups.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-770-B-5 Description: Based on interview, the center did not develop the continuity of operations procedures to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency. Evidence - 1. The Center Director stated (during an interview conducted on the date of inspection - 02/26/2019) that the center currently has not developed a written procedures to ensure that essentials were maintained during an emergency. 2. The Center Director also stated that she was unaware of this new requirement and was not notified of this change. Plan of Correction: These procedures shall be written, staff shall be trained, and will be incorporated into our practice drills.
