An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:25am-3:15pm. There were 33 children directly supervised by 7 staff and all classrooms were in ratio. The physical plant, 6 staff records, 5 children?s records, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. The director advised no medication was on site. Children were observed singing in Spanish, eating snacks which consisted of carrots, celery, and pretzels, reading books, and other organized activities. Lunch today was beans and brown rice, tossed salad, tortilla and fresh fruit. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on record review, 1 of 5 children's records reviewed were not complete. Evidence: 1. Child #4's record (Date of enrollment: 10/1/2017) did not contain documentation of an annual update of the emergency contacts. Child #4's record was last updated on 10/31/2017. Emergency information is required to be updated annually with parents providing a signature that all information is correct and current. Plan of Correction: I called mom and she confirmed all of the information is current. I will have mom sign and date his student file.

The center director advised that she believes the Central Registry search was sent in but that the results were never returned. Plan of Correction: I will follow up and find out why the results were not returned.
