A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 03/04/19 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 9:00am -11:00am. Upon arrival there were 45 children in care with12 staff present. The center had one child in care with food allergies. A sample of 5 children and 3 staff records were reviewed in addition to 2 medications. Children were observed playing with table top toys, during circle time, being read a story and in the gym. Infants were observed on the floor with staff. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-770-B-5 Description: Based on a record review and interview with staff, the vendor did not have a procedure that addressed the continuity of operations procedures to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency. Evidence: The vendor's emergency plan did not include a procedure that addressed the continuity of operations procedures to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency. The Assistant Director stated she was not aware if the policy was been included in the emergency preparedness plan and confirmed she had not had any training on how to implement this procedure. Plan of Correction: The following plan of correction was provided by the vendor during the exit interview: Corporate is working on a proceudre to add to the vendor's plan current emergency plan.
