The following was discussed with the Program Director and Assistant Director: The importance of ensuring floors and rugs have been cleaned and removed of debris. It is recommended the center have a way to obtain important information when electronic records are kept and unable to be accessed electronically.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 9:00am -11:00am. Upon arrival there were 45 children in care with12 staff present. The center had one child in care with food allergies. A sample of 5 children and 3 staff records were reviewed in addition to 2 medications. Children were observed playing with table top toys, during circle time, being read a story and in the gym. Infants were observed on the floor with staff.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: In the 2 year-old room there was a container of disinfectant wipes in an unlocked cabinet. Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the licensee: This item was immediately removed from classroom and disposed of. Our safety captain will do daily monitoring inspections to ensure all items are properly secured. Management will do periodic walkthroughs to ensure compliance. DM will monitor on routine inspections.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F Description: Based on observation the center did not meet all requirements when providing meals and snacks. Evidence: The center did not have a menu posted in the center. Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the licensee: Menu was printed and posted during the inspection. Management will ensure the upcoming week's menu is displayed in an easily viewed area on Friday for the following Monday.
