An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, 2/14/19. The children were busy playing in the various centers and going outside to play on the playground. There are three classrooms with 38 children, six teaching staff, family service advocate and two cooks present. The children exchanged Valentine cards. Lunch, table sanitizing and hand washing was also observed. Children's records were reviewed for compliance. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to call. Inspection began: 9:40 am and ended 1:10 pm.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation the center did not maintain the outside play equipment in a safe condition. Evidence: 1. The steps used by the children to enter the climbing equipment has a coating that is peeling off. Plan of Correction: Will put in a work request to have this repaired.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on observation the center did not maintain the resilient surfacing appropriately. Evidence: 1. The ground covering located in the swing area is exposed which is a tripping hazard for the children. Plan of Correction: Has requested mulch and will place another request for more mulch to cover the ground coverings.
