An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today with a lead teacher, who was present with two additional staff and 27 toddlers/preschoolers- most of whom were napping at the beginning of the inspection. One child had emergency medications on site. Four staff files and six children's files were reviewed today and determined to be complete. Five injuries/accidents were reviewed as well. The snow covered playground was not inspected today. Arrival time: 2:15 pm Departure time: 3: 50 pm
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-E-2 Description: Based on observation, it was determined that the center failed to maintain a 1:5 ratio in the toddler classroom. Evidence: There were 6 toddlers with one teacher from 2:30 pm to 2:40 pm Plan of Correction: We were out of ratio for 10 minutes from when all the children awoke from nap until the time the parents picked them up. We will remember to maintain ratios.
