Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 23 children with 3 staff present in the classrooms. All classrooms were observed today. The 4's class were completing a caterpillar art project and were also broken into small groups playing with the toys and equipment. The 3's class were in a circle listening to staff read a book with an interactive doll that allowed the children to follow along with the story. The children also participated in an audio book that included songs of opposites. Observation of bathroom procedures were made. Staff were present in areas of the hall and class to ensure adequate supervision. A nice transition to putting on jackets and going outside to the playground was also observed. Only 1 new staff since the last inspection in November. This staff's record along with 4 children's records were reviewed. CPR/First Aid, MAT and daily health observation training were verified along with emergency contacts. All background checks are maintained in the main office and are reviewed annually along with health and staff qualifications. This inspection began at 10am and ended at 11:30am. Thank you for your cooperation today. Please email me at: lisa.hudson@dss.virginia.gov with questions.
