Comments:
An unnnounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 8:45am and departed at 12:00pm Upon arrival there were 62 children in care with 25 staff present. A sample of 3 staff and 5 children's records were reviewed. Children were observed outside on the playground, during circle time and being read a story by staff. Infants were observed on the floor playing with staff.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-C
Description: Based on observation and interview the center did not ensure required emergency maps were posted in a location conspicuous to staff and children on each floor of each building. Evidence: The center did not have an evacuation and shelter-in-place map posted in the center. A staff member said they were not sure where the emergency maps were located.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the program director during the exit interview: The center has these maps in the emergency plan however the updated map that was posted did not include the shelter-in-place or evacuations throughout the building. A complete emergency map will be updated and posted.
