Technical Assistance:
Discussion was held regarding storage of school supplies.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 8:45am-12:45pm. There were 64 children directly supervised by 12 staff and all classrooms were in ratio. The physical plant, 7 staff records, 7 children?s records, 4 medications, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed reading books, engaging in circle time, dancing to music, eating morning snack which consisted of milk, cheerios, and fruit. The Kindergarten classroom was checking on the growth of their caterpillars and sharing stories about their week. The School Age classroom was playing with modeling clay. Positive interactions between children and staff were observed during this inspection. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-130-A
Description: Based on record review, 1 of 7 children's records reviewed did not contain documentation immunizations were obtained prior to the child's first day of attending the center. Evidence: 1. Child #1 (Date of enrollment: 4/1/19) was present at the center today. Child #1's file did not contain immunizations.

Plan of Correction: We will get this from the parents.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A
Description: Based on record review, 2 of 7 children's records reviewed did not contain employment information for the parents. Evidence: 1. Child #2 (Date of enrollment: 3/4/19)'s record did not contain mother's employer or mother and father's work phone number. 2. Child #3 (Date of enrollment: 8/2/18)'s record did not contain father's work phone number.

Plan of Correction: I will get this from the parents.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children in all classrooms. Evidence: 1. In the Twos 2 classroom, cleaning supplies were stored in an unlocked cabinet above the toilet.

Plan of Correction: The cabinet was locked by the teacher during inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-G
Description: Based on review of medications, 1 of 4 medications did not have the original pharmacy labeled container. Evidence: 1. Child #8's medication did not have the original pharmacy labeled container.

Plan of Correction: I'll tell the parents to get a pharmacy label and we will keep it with the medication.
