Technical Assistance:
Maintaining the poured-in-place resilient surfacing on the playground was discussed with the program director.

Comments:
Licensing Inspector arrived at 8:30am and departed at 11:00am to conduct a Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection. At the time of the tour there were 70 children in care with 17 staff present. A sample of 3 staff and 7 children's records were reviewed. There were no children with food allergies in care. Children were observed on the playground, playing in centers and being read a story during circle time.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation the center did not ensure areas and equipment of the center, were maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: In the 2 year-old room there was a couch and a chair that had a tear in each with the inside foam exposed.

Plan of Correction: The following corrective action was provided by the program director: The director has already ordered a new couch and chair. in the meantime the torn areas will be covered.
