Lead Teacher Qualifications were reviewed with the Director.
An unannounced Renewal inspection was conducted from 10:10am-12:20pm. There were 76 children in the direct care and supervision of 14 staff members. The playground was inspected, as well as a sample of 10 medications. The first aid kit, emergency materials, annual injury report, 5 staff records, 2 board member records, 7 children's records, and evacuation drills were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following activities: having circle times, painting, washing hands, eating snack, playing outside, and other organized activities. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place that prevents access by children. Evidence: 1. In the 3's classroom (room 131) the closet was left open and there were cleaning materials on a shelf that was accessible to children. Plan of Correction: The closet was shut and locked during the inspection.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1721.1-B-2 Description: Based on a review of board member records, the facility has not ensured that results of fingerprints have been obtained for all board members. Evidence: 1. Board Member #1 does not have fingerprints on file. 2. The Director confirmed that Board Member #1 has not submitted to fingerprinting. Plan of Correction: We will make an appointment and get the fingerprints results for this Board Member.
