Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure all areas and equipment were maintained in a safe and operable condition. Evidence: During the inspection, the licensing inspector observed two playground timbers on the Toddler playground that were deteriorating which created splintered edges. Plan of Correction: I will have the timbers replaced with new ones.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B Description: Based on observations and measurements, the center did not ensure the required resilient surfacing was located in the fall zones areas. Evidence: During the inspection of the Toddler playground, one plastic slide that was approximately two and a half feet tall had approximately one inch of pea gravel at the end of the chute. Six inches of pea gravel would be required in all fall zone areas around the slide. Plan of Correction: I will remove that piece of equipment from the playground.
