Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 11:40am to 1:00pm. 52 children were directly supervised by 13 staff members. The physical space, storage of hazardous materials, 5 children's records, 4 staff records, evacuation drills, a sampling of medications and required posted documents were reviewed. Classrooms were in ratios and records were well organized. Much of the staff has remained consistent for a period of years. Staff were actively engaged with the children and activities. Children were observed on the playground, dancing in a group activity, washing hands and preparing for lunch. Today's lunch was Italian wedding soup, tuna fish sandwiches, fresh fruit and milk. Infants were observed interacting with staff and bottles were properly labeled. No violations were cited today. For questions regarding this inspection, please contact stephanie.salvatori@dss.virginia.gov.
