Comments:
A subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on April 25, 2019 between the hours of approximately 9:45 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., to review the supplemental health and safety requirements. On this date, there were 59 children enrolled and 22 children present, in four classrooms, and in the care of four staff members. Two additional staff members were available and assisted, as needed. Six staff members' records were reviewed and/or updated and five children's records were reviewed. Four children's medications, two children's topical ointments and accompanying authorization forms and allergy plans were reviewed. Lunch consisted of spaghetti, green beans, applesauce and milk. Program observation was completed. The following were observed and/or reviewed during the inspection: infant care; indoor play; outdoor play; restroom, diapering and handwashing procedures; lunch; naptime; and arrival of school-age children. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date; the two inspections combined covered all of the subsidy health and safety requirements. Only the subsidy requirements that were not covered in the licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the subsidy health and safety requirements were cited during this inspection. New subsidy requirements, as listed below, became effective on October 17, 2018. 500.F. Maintain, in a way that is accessible to all staff who work with children, a current list of all children?s allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions. This list shall be dated and kept confidential in each room or area where children are present. 580.E. All staff who work directly with children shall have current certification in first aid and CPR certification (appropriate to the age of children in care) within 90 days of the date of employment. 540.A TB screening/exam report at the time of employment and prior to coming into contact with children. Documentation shall have been completed within the last 30 calendar days of the date of employment. 650.B. Group size requirements 650.E. Develop and implement a written policy and procedure that describes how the program will ensure that each group of children receives care by consistent staff or team of staff members. This policy should demonstrate how children will be supervised by the same staff or the same team of staff that will have primary responsibility for the children to ensure consistent care. 770.B.5. Continuity of operations procedures to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency.
