Technical Assistance:
Discussed: To sanitize means treated in such a way to remove bacteria and viruses from inanimate surfaces through using a disinfectant solution (i.e., bleach solution or commercial chemical disinfectant) or physical agent (e.g., heat). The surface of item is sprayed or dipped into the disinfectant solution and allowed to air dry after use of the disinfectant solution.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 4:30 - 6:00 pm with the site director. There were 31 children, ranging in age from five years to 11 years of age, present with three staff supervising. The children were observed completing a fire drill, going back inside to clean up from snack, wash hands, and going back outside to play. Snack served today was cinnamon toast crunch and milk. Four children's records and three staff records were reviewed and in compliance. The last emergency escape drill was conducted 4/29/19, the last shelter-in-place drill was conducted 4/29/19 and the last lockdown drill was conducted 1/17/19. Six medications and authorization forms were reviewed and in compliance. Description: Based on observation, the facility failed to sanitize tables as required after snack. Evidence: staff sprayed a sanitizing solution on tables, and used a cloth towel to wipe down the tables afterwards.

Plan of Correction: Will allow sanitizing solution to air dry for at least 2 minutes and then use paper towels to wipe dry if needed.
