An unannounced monitoring inspection was done today 4/30/19. The inspector arrived at 8:00 AM and departed the program at 12 pm. There were 28 children in care today with five staff supervising the children. The children gathered in the big room in the morning and then went to their individual classroom. The majority of children leave at 1:00 PM but some stayed for the afternoon program which ends at 6:00 PM. One staff's records and four children's records were reviewed during the inspection. All staff's records were up to date. Discussion with director about adding younger children to the grouping, sanitizing tables, and renewal application.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on review of four children's records, the center failed to ensure that all records were complete. Evidence: 1. Child # 2 did not have allergies completed on the enrollment form. 2. Child # 3 did not have a complete address for one of the two required emergency contacts. Plan of Correction: The director will obtain the missing information from the parents, all information will be monitored.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-G Description: Based on review of medications, the center failed to ensure that all medications had an authorization from the parent. Evidence: 1. Child # 4 had an epi pen for a food allergy present at the center on the day of the inspection and no authorization was located. Plan of Correction: The medication will be returned to the parent today. A new medication and authorization will be required.
