Technical Assistance:
Today we discussed continuity of essential operations.

Comments:
Health and Safety inspection was conducted today to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 15 children in care with three staff. Children present ranged in age from two to six years old. Children were observed in teacher and self-directed activities. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.

Description: Based on review of policy and interview the vendor failed to provide a continuity of operations procedure to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency. Evidence: When asked to review the center's continuity of operations procedures that include essential functions are maintained during an emergency the owner stated that the center does not have such a policy.

Plan of Correction: Center management will create, implement and train staff in the emergency procedures which will include maintaining essential functions during an emergency.
