Today we discussed the addition of a portable unit being placed on the proper to house the school age program. The provider has been informed that any additions to the property may be used until the current license is modified to include the addition.
- Comments:

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today. There were 16 children in care with three teaching. Among the teaching staff were the owner and one other administrator. Children present ranged in age from two to eight years old. Children and staff records were reviewed. Children were observed in teacher and self-directed activities including, home work, outside play and manipulative play activities. A single violation was observed in the area of programs and the violation appears on the violation notice. The single violation was discussed with the owner at the conclusion of the inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-430-K Description: Based on observation and interview the center failed to ensure that provisions are made for an individual space for each child's personal belongings. Evidence: 1 - The belongs and backpacks of the school age children present for care were all stacked inside one large plastic bin. There was not an individual place for each child's personal belongings 2 - Staff one confirmed that there was not individual place for each child's personal belongings. Plan of Correction: Center management will create a place/space for each child's individual belongings.
