A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 5/13/19 from 10:45am to 2:15pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. There were 73 children in care of 11 staff members. The children were observed playing with legos, drawing free art and eating lunch. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-740-A-1 Description: Based on observation, children's hands shall be washed with soap and running water before and after eating meals or snacks. Evidence: In the infant classroom 5 infants were observed playing on the floor mat. They were moved to feeding chairs right after, and handwashing was not done. Two of the five children were observed feeding themselves. Plan of Correction: Staff will be retrained.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-770-B-5 Description: Based on staff interview, the center did not maintain continuity of operations procedures to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency. Evidence: Staff # 2 stated that the center does not have a continuity plan implemented. Plan of Correction: We will work on preparing a continuity plan.
