An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. There were 16 children ages three to 11 years old present for care with three staff including the site director. Children and staff emergency records were reviewed. Children were observed in teacher and self-directed activities including table top games/play and show and tell. Required postings, emergency evacuations, medication and annual inspections were reviewed. A single violations was identified during the inspection and appears on the violation notice. The violation was discussed with the site director at the conclusion of the inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-E Description: Based on review of emergency items and interview the center failed to ensure that there is a working battery operated radio. Evidence: 1 - The battery operated radio was not functional during the inspection today. 2 - Staff 1 confirmed that the radio was not working today. Plan of Correction: A supply of batteries will be obtained and maintained at the center.
