An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, May 16, 2019 to determine the center's compliance with Licensing standards. The inspection was initiated at 3:00 pm and concluded at 4:30 pm. Upon the inspectors arrival middle school children were on the lower level listening to a guest speaker. Elementary school children were observed painting on canvases, making patterns with blocks and playing the guitar. Later children made seed bombs using clay and seeds from indigenous plants that they had dried over the winter. All areas of the facility were inspected. The facility has age appropriate materials and supplies. Children provide their own meals and snacks. The first aid kit and non-medical emergency supplies were inspected and found complete. The following required information was posted: emergency number, the license, last inspection notice, evacuation map/procedures, and daily schedules. The inspector interacted with staff and children in care. Four staff records were reviewed along with five children's records. Medications and medication authorizations were reviewed. Staff have current CPR, First aid, daily health observation training and MAT certification. The most recent evacuation drill was documented on 04/17/2019. The two required shelter-in-place drills were completed on 03/12/2019 and 05/16/2019. Today's census: 26 children in care with 3 staff.
