Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided regarding having your inspection notice in a frame. Director will get clarification, but believes,NAEYC requires anything hanging in the hallway must be in frames.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:00am-1:30pm. There were 134 children (infants-5yrs.) supervised by 23 direct care staff. The physical plant, programming, staff records, children?s records, medications, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, singing, playing outside, and eating snack. There was an abundance of books, toys, and materials, which were found to be developmentally appropriate for the children in care at the time of inspection. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-130-B
Description: Based on review of 6 children's records, 2 do not have documentation of an additional immunization every six months for a child under the age of two. Evidence: Children #1 and #2 do not have documentation of updated immunization record every six months, last updates were 1/4/18 and 1/11/18 receptively.

Plan of Correction: I will contact the parent and get an updated record, I will review the records monthly to ensure compliance.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-440-B
Description: Based on observation, cot are not identified for use by a specific child. Evidence: Cots in the Intermediates classroom are not identified for individual use.

Plan of Correction: We will label them and make the list is posted.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B
Description: Based on observation, the diapering surface is used for other purposes than changing or cleaning children. Evidence: The diapering changing surface is being used for storage in the Toddlers, Beginners and Infant II classrooms, items included boxes of disposal bags, ipad, sign in sheet and a toy.

Plan of Correction: Items were removed during the inspection, and I will make sure the surfaces remain clear of items.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-60-C-2
Description: Based on review of five staff records, one does not have documentation of a finding from a central registry search within 30 days of employment. Evidence: Staff #2 does not documentation of a central registry search, start date 2/11/19.

Plan of Correction: I am sure I sent it in, I will follow up and send you the results when they are received.

Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3
Description: Based on review of 5 staff records, 1 does not have documentation of an out of state background check. Evidence: Staff #1 who has lived outside the state of Virginia within the last five years, does not have documentation of an background check from that state.

Plan of Correction: I will submit the out of state background check and email you the results when they are received.
