An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 9:07am-12:10pm. At the time of entrance, 29 children were in care with 8 staff members present. Children were observed during circle time, listening to the teacher read a book, bathroom breaks, washing hands and playing with toys. Interactions between the children and staff were positive. The site was clean, organized and contained an abundant supply of developmentally appropriate materials. A selection of staff and children records, the physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records, medications and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-140-A Description: Based on record review, the center did not obtain a child's physical within one month after attendance. Evidence: 1. Child B began at the center on 4/01/2019 and the center did not have the child's physical on file. Plan of Correction: I spoke with the parent during the visit and the parent stated she will bring it in.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1720.1-B-3 Description: Based on record review, the child day center did not obtain a copy of the results of a search of the central registry maintained by any other state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years. Evidence: 1. Staff # 4 (Date of hire 10/15/2018) lived in Florida in the past 5 years. The child care center had the central registry results for Virginia for Staff #4, but did not obtain the results of the central registry for Florida. Plan of Correction: The form was sent during the inspection.
