A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 05/28/2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 12:45pm - 3:15pm. There were 56 children (2yrs-5yrs.) directly supervised by 10 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed napping and reading books. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the Violation Notice. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-665-540-A Description: Based on record review, the center did not obtain tuberculosis (TB) test/screening documentation prior to a staff member's first day of employment. Evidence: Staff#4's record does not contain TB test/screening documentation. The staff member's first day of employment was documented as 5/10/2019. Plan of Correction: We will send the staff member to get it done tomorrow.
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-770-B-5 Description: Based on interview, the center's emergency response plan did not include procedures for the continuity of operations to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency. Evidence: The center's emergency plan did not address procedures for the continuity of operations to ensure that essential functions are maintained during an emergency. Plan of Correction: I will start working on it today, we'll have it done by next Monday.
