Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment, current staffing, and inspections conducted by other agencies. The Health Department conducted an inspection of the Pool (used by the child care program and the licensed summer camps) on 05/22/2019. An AHERA Periodic Surveillance Assessment form was completed on 05/02/2017. This assessment is within the three year window recommended by the Division of Licensing for buildings built prior to 1978 that use a management plan for the presence of asbestos. This documentation was observed posted and/or kept at the center.

The following inspection took place between the hours of 10:30 am through 1 pm. Today, I met with the Staff of the Lovettsville Community Center located in the town of Lovettsville, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced monitoring inspection there were a total of 17 children with 4 staff; good ratio for the one child day care room in operation. A total of 5 children?s files were reviewed. Staff files will be reviewed on a later date through the PRCS main office in Leesburg. The children were engaged in the following: large motor activities in the gym, bathroom breaks, hand washing, games, a project involving the birth of praying mantises, learning about patterns, shapes, letters, colors; center activities within the classroom, lunch, and other organized activities.
