An unannounced inspection was conducted today, 5/20/19. Upon arrival to the center the classes were cleaning up from breakfast. Each class then wash hands, brushed teeth and began their day. The classes participated in circle time, practiced their graduation routine and then went outside to play on the playground. There were 35 children in care with seven teaching staff, center director, family service advocate, two center aides and two kitchen staff present during the inspection. A review of children and staff records was also conducted. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact your inspector. Inspection began: 8:50 am and ended 10:40 am.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation the center did not maintain the playground area in a safe condition. Evidence: 1. The blue four seat teeter totter and the swing set and chains have paint that is peeling. These areas are accessible to the children. 2. The timber around the red fire engine has deteriorating wood that is a tripping hazard and is also sharp and splintering. Plan of Correction: A work request will be made to maintenance to have these areas repaired.
