Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 5/29/2019 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:50am-2:15pm. There were 70 children (2yrs.-5yrs.) directly supervised by 19 staff. The physical plant, 7 staff records, 7 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, working on crafts, playing with small manipulative toys, building with legos and blocks, doing puzzles, and playing outside. Hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. There were no violations observed during today's inspection. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Maria Soto at maria.soto@dss.virginia.gov or (571) 835-5058. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. Please send questions regarding this new requirement to maria.soto@dss.virginia.gov .

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-520-B-11
Description: Based on record review, the center did not obtain a written allergy care plan for a child with a diagnosed food allergy. Evidence: Child#1 has an allergy medication on-site, the child's record doesn't contain an allergy care plan to include instruction from a physician regarding the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction.

Plan of Correction: We will ask the parents to have it filled out by their pediatrician.
