An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 9:15am-12:20pm. At the time of entrance, 119 children were in care with 27 staff members present. Children were observed during diaper changes, washing hands, bottle feeding, snack time, circle time, singing, balancing a plastic egg on a spoon while walking in the fitness room, listening to the teacher read a story to the classroom, playing with puzzles, watching a smart board book being read, playing in centers and outdoor play time. The site was clean, organized and contained an abundant supply of developmentally appropriate materials. Interactions between the children and staff were positive. A selection of staff and children records, the physical space, evacuation drills, medications and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. . Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on record review, equipment of the center inside were not maintained in a safe and operable condition. Evidence: 1. In Classroom #8, a blue sofa had a hole in the fabric on the right and left corner. Plan of Correction: We will remove and replace it.
