Had a discussion with the center management regarding acquiring adequate staffing to ensure compliance with ratio requirements if staff members are sick or on vacation.
- Comments:

A focused inspection was conducted on 6/3/2019 between 10:45am and 12:30pm to review supervision and staff records. At the start of the inspection, the children were observed playing freely with blocks and puzzles and eating lunch. Violations were found and the findings from today's visit can be found on the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-C Description: Based on observation and documentation review, the center did not follow the staff-to-children ratio applicable to the youngest child in the group. Evidence: At approximately 10:45am, there were ten children present with two staff in one classroom. At approximately 12:15pm an eleventh child joined the group. The children's records showed that the youngest child in the room was 5 months old. Plan of Correction: There is typically another staff person here but they called out sick today. Our numbers are higher today because I had to bring my two children with me. I'll need to find alternate care for my children so that I don't need to bring them in with me adding to our attendance.
