Comments:
3/21/2019 An unannounced inspection was conducted today at 1:50pm to investigate a complaint reported to the licensing office related to medication. Another inspection was conducted on 6/6/2019 at 2:30pm. Based on a review of all medicines for children in care, and interviews with two staff, there is evidence to support the allegations. A violation notice will be issued.

Description: 03/21/19 Based on a review of the medications for children in care, the facility failed to ensure that all medication is labeled with the child's name. Evidence: 1. There is one bottle of infant Tylenol and one bottle of infant ibuprofen which are not labeled with a child's name.

Plan of Correction: We will label each box with a white label, so it is easily read.

Description: Based on a review of medications for children in care, the facility failed to ensure that all medication, which is no longer needed, is returned to the parent or discarded within 14 days. Evidence: 1. 03/21/19 There are four bottles of infant Tylenol and one prescription medicine in the medication drawer for which the authorizations have expired but have not been returned to the parents or discarded. 2. 06/06/19 There is one bottle of children's Tylenol in the medication drawer for which the authorization has expired and it has not been returned to the parents or discarded.

Plan of Correction: When we do our fire drill each month, we will check all medicine and the medication forms. Expired medication will be returned to the parent.
