Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted today from 9:45am to 12:50pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A total of 40 children were present with 10 caregivers. Children were observed engaging in free play, painting suns onto paper plates, doing a handprint art project, playing on the computer, learning to count, and playing outside on the playground. Infant care was observed and infants were feeding, sleeping, and playing. Positive interactions between children and staff were observed during this inspection. Lunch served today was meatballs in brown gravy, mashed potatoes, cooked carrots, mixed fruit, and milk. Programming, menus, emergency procedures, drills, 3 medications, and 5 children?s records and 5 staff records were reviewed. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found. If there are questions regarding this inspection please contact me at morgan.bryson1@dss.virginia.gov
