The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced renewal inspection Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 11:00am to 2:00pm. The children were observed engaged in a variety of activities ranging from playing in learning centers, playing on the playground and eating lunch. All classrooms and playgrounds were inspected today as well as the facility?s mini buses. Ten children?s records and ten employee records were reviewed during this inspection. Medication is being administered and was reviewed. The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected. Last emergency drill: 05/16/2019 Shelter-in-place drill: 03/19/2019 Last fire inspection: 10/08/2018 Last health inspection: 09/18/2018 Total enrollment today: 187 Today, the following child to staff ratios were observed: Infants (ages 6wk-12m), Ducklings: 8:3 Infants (ages 12-16m), Chipmunks: 10:3 Toddlers (ages 16-24m), Beavers: 9:2 Toddlers & Twos, Friendly Frogs: 13:3 Two-Three Year Room, Squirming Squirrels: 20:3 Three Year Room, Giggling Geese: 20:3 Three-Four Year Room, Rocking Rabbits: 20:3 Three-Four Year Room, Terrific Turtles: 20:3 Four-Five Year Room, Soaring Eagles: 21:3 Four-Five Year Room, Awesome Otters: 21:3 Four-Five Year Room, Foxes: 10:2 School Age (kindergarten): 27:4 The violations from the previous inspections were checked for corrections. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-130-B Description: Based on review of children's records on 06/06/2019, the center did not ensure that immunizations were obtained once every six months for children under the age of two years. EVIDENCE: 1. The most recent documentation of immunization in the record of Child #9, who is 16 months, is dated 06/04/2018. 2. The record of Child #5, who turned two years old in January 2018, and has been enrolled at the center since 02/13/2017, did not contain documentation of immunizations every six months.
