The Conditional license remains pending at this time until the out of state Central Registry search results are received. Please forward your local fire inspection once conducted.

An announced Initial inspection was conducted this date. A total of 83 children with 17 staff present today. Children were observed playing outside on the playground, interacting with staff and completing morning activities in the classrooms. All 8 classrooms were observed, medications, topical ointments and programming were observed. Children completed mini composts in Class 8, were busy tracing numbers in Class 1, practicing yoga poses with encouragement from staff and preparing to have lunch. Staff and child records reviewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-250-B Description: Based on review of the initial application, required documentation of asbestos was not submitted. Evidence: The asbestos documentation submitted with the initial application is not complete. The documentation submitted was completed for a previous owner of the center. Plan of Correction: We are in the process of obtaining this documentation. Once completed, the documentation will be submitted to licensing for review.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation of the classrooms, two areas of the building were not maintained in a safe and clean manner. Evidence: The diaper surface in Class #5 was dirty with debris and sand. The molding in Class # 9 was coming off the wall presenting a tripping hazard. Plan of Correction: We will speak to the staff in Class #5 about maintaining a clean area. The molding will be repaired.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B Description: Based on observation of the classrooms, one diapering surface was not longer absorbent. Evidence: The diaper mat in Class #7 had a crack on the side of the mat and is no longer absorbent. Plan of Correction: We will obtain a new diaper surface for this class.
Standard #: 63.2(17)-1721.1-B-3 Description: Based on staff record review and documents submitted with the Initial Application, background checks for two staff were not obtained. Evidence: Staff #1 and Staff #2 are listed on the initial application for licensure. Out of state Central Registry searches were not obtained for these two staff. Plan of Correction: The search requests were submitted but returned due to an address requirement. Contact has been made with the agency to request the search results to be mailed to a home address as required.
